There will be a bunch of police calls in the parking lot of the Beltway Church of Christ this week. The building will be noisy with a lot or running and cheering as well as reading, computer activity, role-playing, and even a field trip. That’s because Prince George’s County Police DIST IV/Oxon Hill is sponsoring a Spring Break. This is part of the new partnership between the Camp Springs church and District IV’s Community Oriented Policing Service (COPS)
PFC Gonzalez is heading up this activity along with several other officers and a team of Police Explorers. Officers today were stating how exciting it was to have the opportunity to work with the children. The children were definitely having a good time and building a positive relationship with the officers.
One child during craft activity made a small poster that said “My hero, Thank you for controlling my asthma”. She wanted to make sure that Explorer Eley knew it was for him. Priceless!
